Whats Actually Good for Your Portfolio?

Especially if You’re a Model of Color.

Having a strong portfolio makes connecting to other creatives/ getting work a lot easier so make sure to check before doing a collaboration that what's being offered will actually benefit you in the long run. When you're a model of color there are things you especially need in your port to be sure that you get offers that challenge you to grow. How your port is judged is different from a lighter skin model. These tips are for everyone stepping into modeling whether male, female, non binary, and ect. These are some things to make sure you have in your portfolio to make sure you stand out from the rest.

1. Headshots ( there are no hands in a headshot!)

2. full body shots (fashion, lingerie, or n*de)

3. bright well lit photos

4. strong array of poses.

5. Shots that show your styling abilities/ props

6. Straight on, profile, and 3/4

7. Black and White

8. lingerie if you're wanting to do that theme

9. Au-natural n*de classic poses well lit and vary in angles

10. Backgrounds be different (outdoors, white, black, and ect)
